Car Auctions: Automobile Inventors and Manufacturers   by Marian Aldana

In times of serious economic pressure, people have to cut back on expenses and find ways to save cash. People need to be selective with their purchasing, making sure that they get the most value out of their money. Alternative resources need to be examined. In buying cars, auto auctions are an alternative venue that should be looked into. Auto auctions are venues wherein mostly (but not all) previously owned vehicles are sold using an auction system. While most nations have local such auctions in different locations, most people often remain unaware of them. This is mainly due to the fact that auto auctions are a protected source for car dealers, and are closed to the general public. Thus, most of them are private auctions, although there are some that in varying degrees are open to the public. Not many people are aware of the development of cars and vehicles in general, which involves the involving the contributions of car inventors and manufacturers. The engine Gottlieb Daimler designed with Wilhelm Maybach was small, lightweight, and relatively fast. It made use of a gasoline-injected carburetor, and was equipped with a vertical cylinder. The design features of this engine, especially its size, speed, and efficiency paved the way for a surge forward in automobile design. Daimler put various alterations to a regular stagecoach on March 8, 1886 for it to hold his engine. This resulted in what many consider to be the first four-wheel automobile. Daimler is thought to be the first inventor to come up with a practical internal-combustion engine design.Karl Benz, on the other hand, first turned to working on a two-stroke engine as a new source of income. His first patent was granted in 1879. He founded Benz & Company in 1883, with the aim of producing industrial engines. He proceeded to design what was called a “motor carriage”, equipped with a four-stroke engine. Benz also designed the body for a three-wheel vehicle, incorporating it with an electric ignition, differential gears, as well as water-cooling. Benz received a patent for his gas-fueled automobile on January 29, 1886, which he began selling to the public in July. Since these are previously owned cars, interested parties need to gather information first in order to make the best possible purchase. A potential buyer needs to know the details of the car’s make, model, physical condition, and many other things, in order to decide which car would best fit his needs. Some auto auctions do not provide pre-sale vehicle inspection or test-driving. Mechanics and guests are prohibited to view and test the vehicles until after the sale is completed. However, Alameda County Auctions provides previews for their vehicles on sale. They offer a wide range of quality pre-owned vehicles, some of which are luxury cars, and many of which are still under warranty.
